Payment Terms
This summary explains Spark Scout's payment features in plain, straightforward language. It is not a substitute for the full Payment Terms (or other legal agreements), which are the legally binding documents. Always review the full terms for complete details.
How Payments Work
Spark Scout connects Brands, Agencies, and Creators and offers tools to help manage collaborations and payments. However, Spark Scout does not process payments directly. All payments are handled by third-party payment providers.
- Spark Scout does not hold, store, or act as a bank for your funds.
- Payments depend on external processors, so timing, availability, and success can vary.
- You are responsible for complying with the third-party provider's rules.
No Guarantee of Payment
- A buyer, brand, or agency will make or complete any payment.
- A creator will receive payment for work performed.
- Funds will be released by a specific date or at all.
Payments rely on users fulfilling their agreements, completing deliverables, and the processes of third-party payment providers.
Escrow-Like Features and Payment Workflows
Some Spark Scout tools may resemble escrow, milestones, or hold/release mechanisms to help manage project payments. However:
- Spark Scout is not an escrow agent or financial intermediary.
- We do not guarantee that funds will be held securely or released as expected.
- We do not enforce private agreements between users or decide who is entitled to funds.
Holds, Delays, Reviews, and Restrictions
Payments, funds, or accounts may be delayed, held, reviewed, or restricted (sometimes for extended periods) due to:
- Suspected fraud, unusual activity, or security concerns.
- Disputes or claims between users.
- Identity or compliance verification requirements.
- Legal, regulatory, or platform policy obligations.
Chargebacks, Disputes, and Reversals
If a payment is charged back, disputed, or reversed:
- The recipient may need to return the funds.
- Spark Scout may deduct amounts from future payouts or balances.
- Additional fees (such as chargeback processing fees) may apply.
Account Balance
- Is not a bank account or stored funds.
- Is not FDIC-insured (or equivalent).
- Does not earn interest.
- May include pending or restricted amounts subject to change.
Fees
Spark Scout may charge fees for:
- Platform transactions or usage.
- Payment processing.
- Disputes, chargebacks, or administrative actions.
These fees may be deducted automatically from payments or balances.
Taxes
You are solely responsible for all taxes related to your use of Spark Scout, including reporting income and paying any applicable taxes.
Fraud Prevention and Security
We monitor activity to detect and prevent fraud and protect users. If suspicious activity is identified, we may restrict accounts, payments, or access without prior notice.
Disputes Between Users
Spark Scout does not mediate or resolve disputes between users. We may hold or release funds for compliance or platform integrity, but we do not determine legal rights or obligations.
Changes to Payment Features or Policies
We may update payment tools, processes, or policies at any time. Continued use of Spark Scout after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Key Reminders
- Payments are not guaranteed.
- Spark Scout is not a financial institution, bank, or escrow service.
- You are responsible for your transactions, agreements, and any associated risks.
