Account Deletion
This page explains, in plain and straightforward language, how Spark Scout handles account deletion requests. It is intended as a public summary of the process and does not replace our full Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or any other legally binding agreement.
How to Request Account Deletion
If you want to delete your Spark Scout account, you may submit a deletion request through the platform from your Account Settings or by contacting support at admin@sparkscout.com.
How to Access Your Data
You may request a copy of your data through the platform from your Account Settings page. Data exports are provided in a structured JSON format and may include information such as your profile details, account activity, campaigns, applications, messages, invoices, and related records, where applicable.
Data export requests are processed asynchronously and may be delivered once ready, depending on the size and complexity of your data.
To prevent abuse, data export requests are limited to one request every 30 days.
Requirements Before Requesting Account Deletion
Before submitting an account deletion request, the following conditions must be met:
- Any active campaigns must be completed, canceled, or otherwise brought to a close.
- Any open or unpaid invoices must be paid or canceled.
Content and Media Retention
Any stored images or media that are not part of an active or completed campaign will be removed after the 30-day hold period.
Content associated with campaigns may be retained in accordance with platform records, agreements between users, or legal and operational requirements, but will no longer be associated with personally identifiable information after anonymization where applicable.
30-Day Hold Period
When an account deletion request is submitted, the account enters a 30-day hold period before permanent deletion and anonymization are completed.
- This hold period gives you time to reverse the request if it was submitted in error.
- During the hold period, the account is deactivated and login access is blocked.
- The account is not available in a read-only state during this period.
What Happens During the Hold Period
Once a deletion request is received:
- We send a confirmation that the deletion request has been received.
- The account is deactivated and access is suspended.
- The account remains in a pending deletion state for 30 days.
- A reminder may be sent before the deletion window expires.
Restoring an Account During the Hold Period
An account may be restored during the 30-day hold period before permanent deletion is completed.
- Restoration may be requested by the user.
- Admins may also restore an account during the hold period where appropriate.
What Happens After 30 Days
If the deletion request is not reversed within the 30-day hold period, personally identifiable information associated with the account is removed or anonymized.
- Identifying account fields such as email address and similar personal details are removed or nulled where appropriate.
- Public-facing references may be anonymized, including replacing a username with a label such as "deleted user."
- Transactional, operational, legal, security, or analytical records may be retained in anonymized or non-identifiable form where required or permitted.
Data We May Retain
Even after account deletion, Spark Scout may retain limited information where necessary for legitimate business, legal, security, fraud prevention, compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.
- Financial and transactional records
- Security, fraud, and abuse prevention records
- Operational logs and backup records for limited periods
- Aggregated or anonymized analytics data
Communications You May Receive
As part of the deletion process, you may receive:
- An immediate confirmation that your request has been received
- A reminder before the hold period expires
- A final confirmation once deletion and anonymization have been completed
Effect on Content, Transactions, and Platform Records
Deleting your account may affect your access to campaigns, applications, messages, invoices, uploaded content, and other platform records. Some records may no longer be associated with your identity after anonymization, while other records may be retained where legally required or operationally necessary.
No Immediate Erasure Guarantee
Deletion requests are not processed as immediate full erasure. Spark Scout uses the 30-day hold period and subsequent anonymization workflow described above. In some cases, certain records may need to be retained longer due to legal, regulatory, contractual, accounting, fraud prevention, or security obligations.
Changes to This Process
We may update or revise this account deletion process from time to time. Continued use of Spark Scout after any such updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised process, to the extent permitted by law.
